First, the basement looks vacant. With three ventilation fans remaining still, it smells musty. The atmosphere is damp, the room echoes in a dim light. On the ceiling and the pillars marks of leakage are covered by plaster. Heaters are set at the both ends of gas pipe. From the end of shuttered stairway you can see the clock, in the middle of the wall, reflected straightly in the mirrors on the walls of both sides. One mirror is angled like a shield; another is a rectangle half-body sized. They are at a distance from each other; the shield mirror is mirrored fully in the half-body.
